# Team Direct Routing - Change Users Teams Number

Remember that a Microsoft Teams user only can have one number and that a number only can be used once, changing a user’s number can easily be done through the Teams Admin Centre (**TAC**).

Go to the user whose number you want to reuse or take away under **Users** -> **Manage** **users**. Once you marked the user go to the users **Account** -> **General** **information** and click **Edit**.

In the new window on the right side take away the number of the user and click **Apply.**

Once done go back to **Users** -> **Manage** **users** and choose the new user for the number. Again, go to users **Account** -> **General** **information**, click **Edit** and in the new Window choose: **Phone number Type: Direct Routing,** add the number just taken away from another user under **Assigned phone number**. Click **Apply**.

Do not forget to make sure that the new user has the correct policies and licenses applied and, if needed, the old users policies and licenses are changed/taken away.
