Article summary

With our user templates, you can easily create standardized settings for different types of users in your PBX. By defining templates for different user groups, you can ensure that all users of the same type receive the same basic settings and features.

You can find the user templates in the menu under Company > Templates > User Settings. There, you can create, edit, and apply your templates with user settings.

In summary, user templates are a powerful tool to increase efficiency and facilitate the workflow in your PBX.

How does it work?

User setting templates are a powerful tool to streamline the management of user settings. Instead of creating new templates from scratch, you can use existing templates as a starting point.

Predefined templates

We have predefined templates that you can use directly. These templates are created with common settings and features that suit most companies. If you need a custom template, you can clone an existing template and customize it to your company's needs.

Apply a template

You can apply a template by clicking the Apply button at the top right of the templates view. First, select the desired template and then choose which user(s) you want to apply the template to and press Apply. Depending on how many settings you have made in the template and how many users you have selected, the time it takes will vary.

Changes: If you change something on a user after the template has been applied, it does not affect the template. The template settings remain unchanged.

Reset: If you want to revert to the template's original settings, you can easily reset the user to the template's values by applying the template again. Remember that values not set in the template will not be affected.

What happens if a setting is set or not?

All settings defined in the template will be applied to the user. If a setting is set in the template, it will apply to the user.

If a setting is not set in the template, it will not affect the user. For example, if a user is already in a queue, they will not be removed from the queue just because the queue is not included in the applied template.

Different levels of user templates

The templates in the PBX system are organized at different levels to facilitate management. You choose which level you want to work with at the top right of the list:

Here is an overview of these levels:

Root level: The highest level where overarching settings and templates are defined. This contains the global configuration that applies to everyone.

Partner level: This level is intended for partners or large organizations that have multiple customers under them. Here, partners can create and manage their own templates which can then be shared with their customers.

Reseller level: Resellers can have their own specific templates that they use for their customers. These templates can be customized to suit the reseller's needs.

Customer/Company level: This is the most specific level. Here, each customer or company can create their own templates. Only at this level can specific settings for numbers, departments, and queues be defined.
