The User Calendar Feature allows a user to view other users’ events and schedules from their Microsoft Outlook calendars under the Teams Infinity User Dashboard Tab.
(Note: that the calendar feature doesn’t support editing of calendar events.)
Overview
This feature will add a Calendar icon to the Users icons:
When clicking the ikon it will show a new Window showing the users Microsoft Outlook information:
When activated in the Client Settings users will see a addition to their settings tab in our Teams Infinity App
Implementation
Infinity Portal
This feature is disabled by default. To activate it for the user wanting to see others calendars, you need to enable the “Show Teams User Calendar Feature” in the client setting.
Teams Infinity App Settings
Before using the calendar feature, the user wanting to see others Microsoft Outlook Calendar information must authorize the app through the Microsoft identity platform. This process requires the user to authenticate themselves and consent to the requested permissions. Users can start this process by pressing the “Authorize” button in the “User Calendar Feature” menu under the Infinity Teams Setting Tab.
Note: If your tenant is configured to prevent regular users from giving consent to applications, an administrator must grant admin consent for the app. This can be done by clicking the “Admin Consent” button. Regular users will still need to complete the authorization process individually to activate the feature for themselves.
Once authorized, users can freely enable or disable the calendar feature as needed in their Infinity Teams Settings.
Microsoft Outlook Calendar
Microsoft Outlook Calendar sharing is depending on how this is implemented by your Company in your Microsoft Tennant and might be restricted there.
Users can configure which type of information to reveal about their calendar events to others. Simply navigate to the Calendar and open then “Sharing and permissions” menu. You can read more about this here (Share and access a calendar with edit or delegate permissions in Outlook - Microsoft Support).
Note: Only the options to view and see titles can be chosen as we do not allow for viewing all details as well as editing other users Calendar information.
Depending on the administrative tennant settings users already have the sharing set to “Can view when I’m busy” so calendar information is already available to view and the individual users do not need to go and set sharing permissions on their Microsoft Outlook Calendar, otherwise this needs to be reviewed by the tennant adminstrator and the individual users as well.
